Home away from Home

On my way home home from school one day, I was looking out the window and thinking about my plans for the future; college in particular. It brought me back to thinking about Oldenburg. As a senior, I sometimes feel ready to go off and start a new chapter in my life, but am I really?

These past four years, Oldenburg has been like a home away from home for me, not only because I spend so much time there, but also because of the people and the environment. It’s so nice to walk around know who everyone is, and know that you are cared about as an individual. I have become so close to my classmates, the people I barely knew just a few years ago, and I have realized that saying goodbye will be harder than I can imagine.

So maybe I’m not ready to leave Oldenburg, but when I am, I don’t think I will ever really leave this place behind. All the memories I have made and the people I have met will always be close to my heart. It’s a place you just can’t forget. So in the end, I have learned to cherish every moment I have here because they are slowly running out.
