Freshman Welcome Week!

Oldenburg Academy has been in full swing this past week in honor of Freshman Welcome Week. Last week seniors collaborated with Mr. Jonathan Maple and chose a special freshman to write secret messages to in order to get to know them, the only trick was seniors were not allowed to reveal themselves only give them clues as to who they were. After a long and relaxing Labor Day the freshman and seniors met up before school for a tasty donut and some fresh fruit.

At that time freshman were introduced to their secret admirers and they also got to know their senior a little better. On Wednesday the student council wanted the freshman dress up so they decide on the seniors and freshman dressing alike. Some of the groups linked up and formed the rainbow, while other groups took the opportunity as an out of uniform day. Thursday soon rolled around and what is a more fun way to get to know the school than a scavenger hunt. Freshman were challenged to figure out the heart of ICA, but also they had to sing the school fight song to the President, Ms. Diane Lakke. The end the fun filled week was near and on Friday freshman were enriched with the Holy Spirit during their retreat, where they helped at Michael Farm. To end the week with a bang, seniors met up with their freshman and had cold ice cream sandwich while giving them a little more advice before they headed home.
